Your GBP primary category must be HVAC Contractor. This single setting is the most important relevance signal in your entire profile. Add secondary categories for Air Conditioning Contractor, Furnace Repair Service, Heat Pump Installer, and Heating Contractor.
Set your service area to include every city and zip code within your service radius. Set your hours correctly. If you offer 24/7 emergency service set your hours to 24 hours. Customers searching for emergency HVAC at 2am in July need to see that you are available.
Upload minimum 20 geotagged photos. Service vehicles, team in uniform, completed installations. Photos signal business activity and authority to Google’s local algorithm.
NAP Consistency for HVAC Rankings
Your business Name, Address, and Phone number must be identical across your GBP, your website footer, Yelp, Angi, HomeAdvisor, BBB, and every other directory. Check each platform individually. Even Street versus St or HVAC versus Hvac can create inconsistencies that suppress local rankings.

Beyond the standard directories, HVAC companies benefit from industry-specific citations. ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of America) directory.
