What does an AI chatbot for business actually do?
An AI chatbot is a virtual assistant that holds natural conversations with your customers in text. Unlike the old button-based bots, a modern chatbot built on large language models understands questions written in any way, in most languages, and answers from information you give it.
For a small or mid-sized business, a good chatbot has three jobs:
- Answer the questions your team answers every day: prices, service areas, availability, opening hours, delivery, returns.
- Capture and qualify the lead: who they are, what they need, how urgent it is and how to reach them.
- Move them to the next step: book an appointment, request a quote, place an order or speak to a person.
